Can a Trojan still act like a Key Logger??

My mum opened a fake email from the UPS postal service and clicked on the attachment and then closed it immediately- there have been no signs of a virus or the computer being slow, and we've found help on where to find the virus file, but it's not there, we've done a virus scan and everything seems fine. Just in case, is there anything else we should do? And also, we found it that the UPS Email gives you a trojan- can this still record keystrokes like a keylogger or does it just muck up your computer? Can a Trojan still act like a Key Logger??
Probably, nothing has happened. I wouldn't know about trojans, but many backdoors (like sub7 for instance...) can log keys. If you did a virus scan with a quality, freshly updated antivirus, you shouldn't have any problems. Just in case, check the list of running processes and open connections (start/run/cmd.exe and type netstat -n).Can a Trojan still act like a Key Logger??
the person who wrote the program can depending on the program take over your pc and use it to commit anykind of fraud including money laudering scams child pornogaphy all in your name, so yes it can be a problem especially if your ip address were to come up and you were visted by the police although you could prove it was not you it would still be a inconvenience having your pc taken away
