I think it is but im confused, why would people pay to do shopping?
also shall I just reply with my address, or a fake address
he already knows my email and first and last name
what shall i do?Is this email a scam?
Yes - The giveaway is Africa, Orphanage, Going away etc. Visit a website called the Scambaiter if you want to have a laugh at these scammers as they get conned themselves! Not my website, I only found it last week and I have been laughing so hard. It also offers advice on what to do or how to spot a scam.
Assume that any unsollicited email is a scam, any email from Africa or South America is a scam, any email from Russia or China is a scam, any email asking for personal information is a scam.Is this email a scam?
I can't discuss it on here. Please email me your bank details and personal details (DOB, address and employment) to my office here in Nigeria.
:-)
Of course it is a scam.
It is just another variation on the advance fee scam.Is this email a scam?
How many people would one guy need to shop?
This is a scam.
Yes, it is a scam. delete it.
Scam
Scam
People do get paid for being "secret shoppers". But that sounds like a scam.
whats in the packages drugs???
report it to gumtree and yes its a scam, you'd think the nigerian 419 scam was old hat but it seems people are still dumb enough to try and use it still.
This is just an elaborate scam to get hold of your bank details. There will be no money going into it from him but I bet he'd have a good try at taking plenty out of it.
It is a phishing scam. Be aware that Burkino Faso and other obscure locations are havens for these people. The information requested is sufficient to start an identity fraud. Ignore it!
Categorically a scam phishing for your personal details and possibly as a bonus enticing you to advance goods of value before receipt of cleared funds......

XBOX 360 REPAIR? Service request number?
Thanks in advance
This is the number for repairs.
I have been wondering what the service request # is. When i go online and " Check your repair status by using the service request number " the number they gave me on the phone never works. They gave me a straight up 10 digit number that looks like this. 1076*2**3* - the *'s are numbers.
I enter that number and my postal code and it still hasn't been working yet.
Can someone tell me how to retrieve your service request number , and if the number i have is the service request number then how come it's not working?
Also these were received in my email from Microsoft/UPS. Are they relevant to the service request #?
Reference Number 1: 1076*2**3*
Reference Number 2: 61*0*9*6*5*6
I noticed that reference # 2 is my serial # and the reference #1 is the number they gave me over the phone. Once again, the *'s symbolizes the numbers i blanked out.

Will USPS cancel my shipment in time?
I sent a very expensive shipment to Nigeria yesterday, stupid craigslist scam, at 11am via USPS Express Mail International (yes I NOW know everything going on in Nigeria is a scam). Anyways, I realized that it was a scam last night after post office closed. I then submitted my PS1509 first thing this am to my local consumer affairs office. I also sent some emails to the Nigerian Postal Service at the border, although I doubt that will do anything. Has anyone had any experience with the recall process or can give me an idea of my chances for recovery? Thanks for any information!!Will USPS cancel my shipment in time?
If the package has left the country then it's too late to ever get it backWill USPS cancel my shipment in time?
Hey Mark, I'm in the same situation right now. I just wanted to know if you were able to recover your shipped item or if Kittysue is correct? I kind of have lost all hopes by now.

Secret Shopper庐
www.mysteryshoppercanada.orgI applied for jobs and received this email offering me a mystery shopper job.It asks for my info is it a scam?
100% scam.
There is no mystery shopper job.
There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money.
The next email will be from another of the scammer's fake names and free email addresses pretending to be the "secretary/assistant/accountant" and will demand you cash a large fake check sent on a stolen UPS/FedEx billing account number and send most of the "money" via Western Union or moneygram back to the scammer posing as the "supply company" while you "keep" a small portion. When your bank realizes the check is fake and it bounces, you get the real life job of paying back the bank for the bounced check fees and all the bank's money you sent to an overseas criminal.
Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.
When you refuse to send him your cash he will send increasingly nasty and rude emails trying to convince you to go through with his scam. The scammer could also create another fake name and email address like "FBI@ gmail.com", "police_person @hotmail.com" or "investigator @yahoo.com" and send emails telling you the job is legit and you must cash the fake check and send your money to the scammer or you will face legal action. Just ignore, delete and block those email addresses. Although, reading a scammer's attempt at impersonating a law enforcement official can be extremely funny.
Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram.
You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information.
Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.
Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.
6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:
1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.
2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.
3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.
4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.
5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.
6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site.
Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason.
If you google "fake check cashing job", "fraud Western Union scam", "check mule moneygram scam" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims of this type of scam.I applied for jobs and received this email offering me a mystery shopper job.It asks for my info is it a scam?
100% SCAM
First of all, real mystery shopping pays $5-10 per shop. $25 is the most I've ever seen offered for an assignment. There is no mystery shopping in the world that pays $300
Second, no mystery shopping company contacts random people by email to offer them a job. You always have to contact them directly or be referred by a current shopper and go into their office to fill out an application and attend a training/orientation before you are offered any assignment
Third, you can tell this is not a professional email from a legitimate company by the poor grammar and punctuation used. No real company would ever send out an email that looked like this
Fourth, it's against the law for any employer to ask your age, sex or marital status
The fact they mention a money order is all you need to know this is a money laundering scam -- one that can land you in prison or at least bankrupt you

DO NOT send any personal details - this is all anyone needs to steal your identity. Report this ASAP to the site where the job was posted and to the Anti-Fraud Centre for investigation

100 percent scam. You are going to be asked to evaluate Western Union or Moneygram by sending money to somewhere overseas (I'd bet on Nigeria). They send you a fake cheque to cover what is being sent, but by the time your bank bounces the cheque, you're out the money.ruby tuesday menu professor layton

It is scam. You can always track IP address from email sender by yourself to come behind who is really who want to scam you with this excellent email tracker:
http://www.ipaddresslocation.org/email-t鈥?/a>I got this email and want to know if its a scam?
Scam definitely. And I didn't even read through 1/4 of the thing. You can also tell because of the name, John Smith (that and John Doe are the two names that almost all places use as examples and pseudonyms).

they make lots of money.I got this email and want to know if its a scam?
Definitely!! send it to your spam handler (or trash)

Got one just like it today - they only want $205 and I get $800,000 - WOW!!! Same old story..If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Another words - SCAM
What would happen if you took down your mailbox? I'm so sick of all of the snail mail spam!?
I didn't see it personally, but I heard there was an episode on Seinfeld where Kramer went to the post office and told them he wanted to "close his account". Personally, I think that's a great idea. Somehow, this "privilege" that the government once gave us has now become just an unhindered avenue for personal invasion. We have become inundated with junk through our mail system and it is costing the taxpayers millions in taxes being paid to the postal service so that the handlers can HANDLE all of that crap. Seriously, I want to know what would happen if I took the mailbox down off of the front of my house and dealt with my bills online only. Gee, I wonder what would happen if a large group of people protested the current system in that way...the postal service would be forced to make changes in how they handle the junk! We can make requests not to receive junk phone mail, junk email...but what about regular mail....tell me what YOU think! What would happen if you took down your mailbox? I'm so sick of all of the snail mail spam!?
Get a PO Box at the Post Office, then take down the mailbox - - you wouldn't want to miss out on legitimate mail, for instance, mail from the government, tax returns (you probably e-file), how about a recall on your automobile? Other notices about your community - community hearings on water prices, special taxes, etc. Maybe special mailing from the state - voting pamphlets and info? Make sure you have somewhere for the mail to go, it's still valuable. What would happen if you took down your mailbox? I'm so sick of all of the snail mail spam!?
You are seriously mistaken in your knowledge of the postal system.
Not one penny of taxes goes to the USPS. All of the money that the Postal Service gets is through the sale of postage, stamps, etc. When you, or your brother, or Sears, or Capital One, or any mailer mails a bill, parcel, catalog, brochure, they are the one's paying the freight. The Postal Service has to deliver the mail, that is why they are in business. Is there any business around that would take payment for a service and then NOT provide that service? Um....No.
Maybe you shouild just shout 'Serenity Now', per Mr. Costanza, and your life will take a turn fo rthe better. Until then, don't let your life be guided by a sitcom.

Secret Shopper(R)IS THIS A REAL SECRET SHOPPER EMAIL???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Sounds good to me and it will only cost you $10.do it and do it quick.
It doesn't say you have to send them $10, it says invest, which I am taking it that it means you spend $10 in store. I have been doing mystery shopping for 9 years and have gotten paid this amount for a store, but not a store that was "regular"...usually emergency shops, ect. Walmart NEEDS help!
It is a SCAM-mail and is still active. The script is similar with only name changes but different addresses. I "Googled" data revealed by viewing the "full header" of the e-mail: "Received: " entries, address in "From: ", Sender's address, Company name, Signer's name, etc. Bad News! No Job!
I got this same email and believe it is a scam. First of all most mystery shops only pay $10 to $15, NOT $200! I also noticed that the email address is from the Arab Emirates. 'Might explain why the grammer and spelling in some of their emails is lacking. Deal with someone local.
Might want to actually check out the real Secret Shopper - http://www.secretshopper.com.
Note the scam alert at the bottom of their site.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!
CURRENTLY BEING TRACKED BY THE FBI.....
IF YOU TRY TO DEPOSIT THEIR "CHECK" YOUR BANK ACCOUNT WILL BE EMPTIED BY THEM BY THE NEXT DAY!!!!!!
I'd be wary of any "premier" company that uses a gmail address.
Send the $$ and you are screwed!
I also signed up to be a mystery shopper and also received one of these. But I talked and got my address from a real mystery shopper and it didnt match my address. So im not sure to be honest. But I didnt do it.Pay attention to how they spelt stuff. Like there was a period in bertween Bank. One ( I dunno I notice little stuff like that and sometimes I wonder.) Sorry I couldnt help more.
$200 for a convenience store visit??? Too good to be true. I've been working in the performance evaluation/mystery shopper filed since last October, and I've never seen an assignment like the one above to pay this much. While there are assignments that do pay between $150-$200, they usually involve a bit more effort than a simple interaction with a store clerk.
Plus I have never had to pay any upfront fees to a company. The only investment I ever had to make was $5 for a researched list of the highest paying companies, back when I decided to do this type of work. While it is generally not necessary to purchase any list of companies to get assignments, if you get one from a good source, you will bypass the need to work with the cheapest companies in this field(majority of those are not well-paying ones, unfortunately), and get high paying assignments.
Keep in mind, that this job requires a level of determination and ability to organize and manage time in order to make money.
I work only on weekends, because I hold a full time job elsewhere, but during these weekends I'm able to generate $300-$400 weekly on an average.

I wouldn't buy it. There are just far too many schemes and risks, now a-days. So be very cautious at those. Even the most basic of information can help a Predator.
I think these emails are just a way to get your personal information to put you on mailing lists, email lists and telemarketers lists. I spam them and delete them...also unsubscribe if they offer it...usually found near the bottom of the email. Is this a real email?
don't do it unless you signed up to be a secret shopper...which means that you paid fees. To be a secret shopper you always have to pay something up front to begin with. It's like working at the post office. If not then it's just a sham.
no. It is a copy of a real email.
How to tell if something is a real email:
you found it in your inbox
it has a senderIs this a real email?
Anything that asks for your personal information is bogus.
Yes. You should definitely give them all the information and money they want sans hesitation.
definitely a spam
Quite possibly. Check out Frank James at Secret Shopper.
No. u dont have to pay to be a secret shopper..they just want ur account info...also REAL secret shopper jobs only pay $5-$30 each not $200.00
Don't give out your personal info.
i dont think so, i never trust emails from companies I dont know. but it doesnt look like a huge scam so I'm not sure.
its probobly just spam. just ignore it if you didnt sign up for it.
not too sure to be trutfull
I doubt it
just go to the original site and tell them about the email and give them your info. if it's a real company, they wouldn't have GMAIL accounts. that's just tacky. the email should be something like James.F@secretshopper.com
http://www.secretshopper.com/info/shoppe鈥?/a>
It may be.....but
If you really want to look into being a "mystery shopper" then you should be able to find something in your local newspaper or online job postings. You can also try googling mystery shopper and see what pops up. I wouldn't respond to this....

Email scam? what do i do?

Sounds pretty fake to me, how do i report this? or what should i do?Email scam? what do i do?
This is a definite scam and you need to report it to the FBIs Internet Crimes Complaints Center http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
This is indeed pretty fake.
Delete - and never respond to these jokers.
Your "hint" - it mentions Nigeria. Any mail from Nigeria should be classified as a scam / fraud - and deleted on sight.
For these and other examples - check http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/sc鈥?/a> - archives are free to read for all.Email scam? what do i do?
Put this e-mails as spam, i have been a victim of a scam never answer to these emails and as they say if it sounds too good to be true then it is a scam.
This is a definite scam,Do nothing except delete it.Email scam? what do i do?
OBAMA SENT IT Do not trust the COMMIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
If it looks like a scam it probably IS
First of all, you can stop opening mail from people you do not know! Opening spam alerts the sender that your address is a valid one and they send you loads and loads more. It is a scam to get your personal information and/or money.
Do not respond to it.
Report it, forward it to the FTC at spam@uce.gov and to the abuse desk of the sender's ISP.
For yahoo, report them here: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya鈥?/a>
Choose Fraud as the reason for the violation you're reporting on.
Also, if the email appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.
And for your E-mail safety, remember:
Do not open E-mail unless you are absolutely sure who it is from, then treat all others as spam.
Never, ever give out your personal information to anyone, for any reason, whether by E-mail, snail mail, phone call, or at your front door.
Report it. You can probably go to the donotcall.gov page and find where to report it. They also have donotfax and stuff about email and mail violations.
Whatever you do - do not respond to the emails. Do not give them any info. It is a scam. Especially if you have not entered any contests.
And if you do win something you do not have to pay anything to get your prize.

so fake....and i dont know what your supposed to do with this? 100% fake though
It is most certainly fake. For a while, I received emails similar to the one you have described. I tried blocking the email address only to receive more emails all from different email addresses. However, this problem is not an issue for me anymore. That is because I found scambusters.org and I subscribed (it didn't cost me a penny), and that cleared everything up for me. :)Is this email real? (If not where should i report it to?)?
100% Fake
1 - The head of the FBI is not going to communicate with anyone but high level government officials
2 - the FBI would never give away money or get involved in bank transfers
3 - ALL FBI emails are from @fbi.gov
As the others day forward this to the FBIs IC3 division for investigation then delete it
The many grammatical errors and misspellings should tip you off.
It鈥檚 some scam. Very common.
And if you think about it, do you really think they鈥檇 send this lame email when $10 million bucks are involved?
Rule of thumb: When something seems too good to be true, it usually is.Is this email real? (If not where should i report it to?)?
It's full of spelling errors and is obviously a scam. Just ignore it, it isn't worth bothering to report, thousands of these things are being sent around.

Second, The FBI is not in the business of forwarding money to people.
Third, The FBI does not ask for money.

Sorry, this is a scam. BMW doesn't run any lotteries like this (see the links below for more details)... it's just a variant of advance fee fraud (also know as a 419 scam). First, you (and thousands of other people) get a spam message stating that you won the lottery. If you believe the scammer and reply, he will charge you a fee before your winnings can get to you: in this case, it's probably to pay shipping fees for your "new car". The whole thing is made up just to steal your cash.Email below;?
BMW uses their own domain - not hotmail. It's a fake e-mail. Mark it as spam, delete it, and don't let it bother you again.

Then I went and deposited the Draft with COURIER SERVICE, West Africa,I travelled out of the country for a 3 Months Course and I will not come back till end . What you have to do now is to contact the COURIER SERVICE as soon as possible to know when they will deliver your package to you because of the expiring date.
For your information, I have paid for the delivering Charge, Insurance premium and Clearance Certificate Fee of the Cheque showing that it is not a Drug Money or meant to sponsor Terrorist attack in your Country.
The only money you will send to the COURIER SERVICE to deliver your Draft direct to your postal Address in your country is ($210 USD) Dollars only being Security Keeping Fee of the Courier Company so far. Again, don't be deceived by anybody to pay any other money except $210 US Dollars.
I would have paid that but they said no because they don't know when you will contact them and in case of demurrage. You have to contact the COURIER SERVICE now for the delivery of your Draft with this information bellow:

M.T.C.N:????
Text Question: with God?
Answer: all things are possible
Let me repeat again, try to contact them and also send them the fees as soon as you receive this mail to avoid any further delay. You should also let me know through email as soon as you receive your Draft.

漏 2009How would you know if a email is a scam?a woman sent me an email saying she sent me money through a courier?
Well, of course it is a scam!
First of all, why in the world would a complete stranger want to send you a check for reasons unknown to you, that you are certainly not expecting.
Second, disregarding that fact, any legitimate business that would send you anything, will never ask you to pay a charge or fee of any kind.
There are many other reasons that this screams fake, but FYI, any mention of Nigeria it the biggest tip-off of all for a scam! Now, back to you, why are you opening mail from people you do not know? Opening spam mail alerts the sender that your address is a valid one and they send you loads and loads more.
When an E-mail offer sounds too good to be true, then it is definitely not true.
Also, if the E-mail appears to be impersonating a bank or other company or organization, forward the message to the actual organization.
And for your E-mail safety, remember:
Do not ever open E-mail from people you do not know; and unless you are absolutely sure who it is from then treat them as spam.
Never, ever give out your personal information to anyone, for any reason, whether by E-mail, snail mail, phone call, or at your front door.
And do not ever send money, checks or money orders to; or cash checks, money orders for any one - ever.
LOL! Typical Nigerian scam, I can't believe people still fall for this. You send them 210$ they send you nothing, easy money for them. How would you know if a email is a scam?a woman sent me an email saying she sent me money through a courier?
Anything that asks you to send money is a scam. Do not do it.
Just think about it: why would anyone send you $800,000 but make it subject to your paying $210 in fees to get it? It makes no sense.
The turn-of-the-last-century con man known as "The Yellow Kid" once remarked that every single person he ever conned was looking to get something for nothing or to cheat someone else. How would you know if a email is a scam?a woman sent me an email saying she sent me money through a courier?
So you opened an email that says" Greetings to you my Dear Friend?" Do you know this person? Did you ask her to send you email? Do you always open junk that comes from people you don't know? That's the definition of spam: email from people you don't know."
Duuh. Let me correspond with you since you seem to be a believer in this. I have some riverfront property in the Little Sahara in western Oklahoma for sale that you might be interested in. LOL
Right ground rules, guide lines call it what you will.
If you don't know person don't trust!
If they ask for money don't trust!
If they ask for "Any!" details don't trust!
If it seems too good to be true, eg. You have won or there is this great free gift or deal for you. "Don't!" trust, especially if the offer or prize is something you haven't had to do anything for to start with.

What should I do about someone who sent money through the mail??
Ok well I won this contest for best picture and the Most amount of votes from people.
And the first prize was $150 Cash. Well I won the contest and I didn't talk to the guy who was supposed to be giving out the money on the phone. I just emailed him my address and talked to him yesterday and he said he sent it out last week.
Well I looked through my mail and everywhere and haven't seen an envelope with my name on it anywhere!
The thing that bothers me the most is that He sent $150 CASH through the mail when everybody should know you aren't supposed to send cash through the mail, Only Checks.
Well I'm kinda stressed out because he swears on his child's life that he sent it out, But I do not have it. Is there a Possibility that someone in the postal service seen money through the envelope and stole my money? Should i try and call the postal office to see if they have it or just keep looking or insist this guy sends me a Check this time and If the Money showed up later I'd send it backWhat should I do about someone who sent money through the mail??
THAT MONEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SENT BY REGISTERED MAIL WHERE YOU SIGN FOR IT. ALSO THATS RIDICULOUS IF HE SENT CASH IN AN ENVELOPE. IF HE SAID HE SENT A CHECK HE CAN CANCEL THE CHECK HE SENT AND SEND YOU ANOTHER CHECK.. NO MATTER WHAT WENT ON YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR WINNING $ 150.00 IF HE SENT A MONEY ORDER THERE IS A TRACING NUMBER INVOLVED . I HOPE HE ISNT A CROOK. ! DONT LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS. !What should I do about someone who sent money through the mail??

Your suspicion is correct about the post office crews to might found the money and keep it.second , the issue of been against the law to send cash money in the mail., third, is suspicious that this type of organizers pay out in cash given the fact that they still would have to report such pay out to to our well respect it I.R.S, so the whole thing sounds to dirty...my sugestion, contact this person and ask the prize to be only paid with a check, if arguement develops is your decision to threat with court call even in reality you might no want to waste your time for 150.00 ohh remenber also friend if you get paid w/check you'll be liable for taxation while cash is kind of tax free.

A question for people who live in the country?
I've always dreamed of what it would be like to live in the country, surrounded by nature! But I have a question about the practicality of such a lifestyle.
1) What do you do about groceries? (e.g. How often do you get them, and how far do you have to drive? Or do you grow your own food?)
2) Do you get postal service? (Honestly I think with email and such I could probably live without it, but I'm curious.)
3) When something breaks, do you have to pay extra for the repairman (since he has to travel further)?
I know it's a lot of questions but this is something I *really* want to do! Please answer. I am tired of the city.
(Sorry if this is the wrong category... I wasn't sure where to put it and figured that someone who lives in the country would probably homeschool their kids, thus I might be able to find someone here.)A question for people who live in the country?
1. We're pretty self sufficient: we grow a lot of our own veggies, fruit, etc; bake our own bread, etc; keep our own house cows for milk, butter, yogurt, cheese, etc; our own poultry for eggs, as well as meat; we also rear (and slaughter and butcher) our own meat.
Any groceries that we can't get or make or grow for ourselves, we have to order from town. They are then sent out to us on the mail plane. Occasionally Mum may fly or even drive into town to get something urgent but that's pretty rare; she'd probably have to have more than one 'urgent' reason to go to town before she'd do that!
2. Yes, we get proper post. The mail plane comes up this way - weather permitting - twice a month.
3. What's a repairman, lol? It costs a lot for everything up here; spare parts take weeks to arrive from the city; when they do arrive, you have to do the repairs yourself (or at least, your dad does them).
I don't live in a rural area now, but I used to.
"The country" can mean a lot of different things. There are very remote areas where the nearest grocery store is 100 miles away, and there are other places where the nearest store is maybe 5 or 10 miles away. So shopping comes down to a question of what is convenient for you. You do want to plan your trips, because if you run out of paper clips, you're not going to want to drive 20 miles to the nearest Staples store.
Almost everywhere has postal service. You're more likely, in fact, to have daily postal service than you are to get a high-speed Internet connection.
As for something breaking, you probably don't have to pay more, but your choice of who you can get to fix something may be more limited, and it may take an extra day or two for parts to come.
Hope this helps.A question for people who live in the country?
I live in the country. We have a ten acre hobby farm. We love it! We have a multitude of pets, a lot of room for gardening, dirtbiking, etc. and plenty of space for the children to roam. There is an abundance of wildlife to observe...it is great!
1. Even in the country, there are usually grocery stores relatively close. We have one less than five minutes away and another about ten minutes away. I guess it depends on how far out you are, because I know of others further out than us. We grocery shop about once a week, but it is not too far away to stop in for something we need or forgot. Wal Mart is a different story, and the mall, as they are about 20 minutes or more away. Yes, we do garden and grow some of our own fruits and vegetables, and trade with others.
2. Yes, we have a post office again less than five minutes away. They deliver our mail six days a week. Even the people further out that I know get their mail delivered daily.
3. No. My husband can fix most things, and if he can not-there are other people that live out here in the country. We know electricians, painters, someone with a fence business, plumbers, heating and a/c, mechanics, etc.
The only thing we miss out on is pizza delivery. It is probably better for our health anyway;) My children's only experience with an ice cream truck was when one showed up at the playground we were at. But, they are willing to trade that for the pets we could not have if we lived elsewhere, and the fact that if we lived in town they could not ride dirt bikes, go carts, etc.
We are not really that far out. It seems like it to most people that are used to living in town, but you get used to it out here. The "city" is only about half an hour away, and that includes malls, doctor's offices, etc. However, town (a few minutse away) has a drug store, hardware store, gas station, grocery store, etc. There are of course schools out here. No public transportation.
We go to "town" daily, and the "city" atleast once a week.
1) We do one big grocery trip a week, pretty much the same as when we lived in the suburbs. The difference is that we have to plan a little better and don't make an extra trip for one item we forgot. If we forget, then we do without until we can tack that on to some other trip into town.. It is a 14-mile trip, so that can make an 89垄 jar of mustard really expensive if you count the gas. We do have a garden, but that is for just a few veggies and strawberries part-time. We don't can or freeze them, although a lot of folks do.
2) Yes, we get postal delivery every day except Sunday.
3) Repair prices depend on the repair service, yes, some do charge an extra travel fee, but some don't. A lot of things we fix or install ourselves, like a faucet or hot water tank, or we take an item in to be fixed if we can. My son did this with an engine for his truck.
4) You did not ask about water or sewer. This is the biggie when you are looking for differences. ...and pizza delivery, of course!A question for people who live in the country?
1. you buy alot, eat a little, and whenever you go into town buy some food. you can grow your own food too
2. um. YES. Everyday.
3. No....
Good questions!
I drive about 10 minutes to get to town, where I can run my errands etc. This is probably not much longer than city people travel to get their groceries. I shop about once per week if I'm organized. My parents have cows, so they shop once every two weeks.
I grow as much of my own food as I can. YUM. There is certainly more opportunity to be self-sufficient.
My town, which is actually a small city, has a post office. Even teeny tiny towns do, or they have mailboxes on their main street.
The repairman is rural too, so he doesn't charge us more. Common sense would apply here. We try to fix our own things if we can, which just makes sense for anyone.
Country life is peaceful. We can get excitement and crowds if we want, but we always have a quiet place. Our home and yard is our haven. I hope you find what you're looking for.
We live in a rural area and love it.
Groceries are bought at Walmart any time I go into town which is just about everyday.
We get the mail and email too. We have a satellite service that provides high speed Internet.
If something breaks (just like in the city) we call the repairman. We don't pay anything extra but we don't live that far out (about 10 miles).
We also have access to public schools so not all of us home school. We choose to home school and after we move to the city we will continue. I will not put my kids back into a public school!
Sure you could live in the country email, on line shopping, pay bills on line. or you could go into to town once a month and buy all your supplys and grocerys. monthly.I'm also moving to the country.and looking forward to it myself.you can always find a local handy man who would help out.things seem farther but in reality how long do you sit in traffic.just to go a few miles. less stress live longer good luck.......

Question about USPS....-__-???
Ok I ordered my prom dress online and my prom is tomorrow (stupid I know) but I got priority shipping (2-3 days) and on May 6th (which was a Sunday) I got a email stating "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on May 6, 2007 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available." There is no tracking information available for this type of delivery (I tried that already). My question really is, Does the USPS deliver packages at the same time as mail? Even if my package didn't go to be delivered until Monday it should be here by today. I've already gotten my normal mail, is there a chance it might come later with a different postal guy?Question about USPS....-__-???
Yes, if the package is too big for your regular carrier
to deliver another carrier will deliver it to your door, later in the day or earlier in the day.. depending on where you are in his route.
I would say you definately should get it tomorrow, if you
don't get it today.
Be sure to let us know when you get it...
Good Luck and enjoy the prom.
its 2-3 days usually but not a guarantee. oops you just cut it too close.Question about USPS....-__-???
sorry, but every package I've ever had delivered by USPS has come with my 'normal' mail
That would usually be a different carrier. Keep in mind - the USPS does not guarantee 2 - 3 days delivery. that is just their best estimate. Plus, it depends when they get the package.
Also, their on-line tracking system is horrible. I've gotten packages way before they had any information on-line, and also way after they said it should be delivered.Question about USPS....-__-???
Priority mail is generally delivered with regular mail unless it is a large package. You can check the postal service for delivery standards from the location of the package to your location. Even though they say 2-3 days, it can be longer if it is all the way across the country. Even if it comes tomorrow, you will be fine as long as it fits correctly.
USPS Normally ships at the same time unless it's Expess. I hope you get it by tomorrow if not you might need to go get a new dress today just in case so you have a back up plan/

-Wall Street Journal
A poor family is making big donations to Hillary Clinton... and their donations just happen to track with the donations of a wealthy Chinese businessman.
One of the biggest sources of political donations to Hillary Rodham Clinton is a tiny, lime-green bungalow that lies under the flight path from San Francisco International Airport.
Six members of the Paw family, each listing the house at 41 Shelbourne Ave. as their residence, have donated a combined $45,000 to the Democratic senator from New York since 2005, for her presidential campaign, her Senate re-election last year and her political action committee. In all, the six Paws have donated a total of $200,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005, election records show.
That total ranks the house with residences in Greenwich, Conn., and Manhattan's Upper East Side among the top addresses to donate to the Democratic presidential front-runner over the past two years, according to an analysis by The Wall Street Journal of donations listed with the Federal Election Commission.
It isn't obvious how the Paw family is able to afford such political largess. Records show they own a gift shop and live in a 1,280-square-foot house that they recently refinanced for $270,000. William Paw, the 64-year-old head of the household, is a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service who earns about $49,000 a year, according to a union representative. Alice Paw, also 64, is a homemaker. The couple's grown children have jobs ranging from account manager at a software company to "attendance liaison" at a local public high school. One is listed on campaign records as an executive at a mutual fund.
The Paws' political donations closely track donations made by Norman Hsu, a wealthy New York businessman in the apparel industry who once listed the Paw home as his address, according to public records. Mr. Hsu is one of the top fund-raisers for Mrs. Clinton's presidential campaign. He has hosted or co-hosted some of her most prominent money-raising events.
People who answered the phone and the door at the Paws' residence declined requests for comment last week. In an email last night, one of the Paws' sons, Winkle, said he had sometimes been asked by Mr. Hsu to make contributions, and sometimes he himself had asked family members to donate. But he added: "I have been fortunate in my investments and all of my contributions have been my money."
He's got $45,000 laying around and decides to continue living at home with mom and dad instead of getting his own apartment?

nice spin.
you'll say anything to get attention off Craig and is hypocrisy.
Besides, the story about the Paw's is being looked into. So don't try to use it to take the spot-light off Craig.
Believe it or not. $290,000 is not very much when you are talking about campaign monies. If you think that all candidates are not getting campaign money in the same types of ways you are mistaken.
I think there should be no personal money spent on campaigns and that each candidate get exactly the same amount of news coverage because the wealthy have an unfair ability to get their names recognised and ideas heard by more people which doesn't equal the best candidate at all. I don't think the wealthy should be the only people who can run "successfully" for office. The Dems are focused on Craig when they ignore their own problems and corruption. Why isn't this a top story?
I believe it was the party of Senator Craig the REPUBLICANS who have called for an investigation.

Yes, you should.I copied and pasted this from my email? I know this is a scam, but should i contact FEDEX and let them know?
You can forward it to phishing@fedex.com but your pretty much wasting your time, these scams are mostly out of africa, former soviet block countries and china and there is virtually nothing anyone can do... The key is for people around the world need to realize these are scams, and to ignore them all, yet morons keep sending these people money to "process" the oil inheritance, package handling fees, etc in the insane hope that it's legit...key is it's not, never will be and as long as people are stupid and greedy, spammers will keep sending this nonsense.
They are getting crafty huh? The only reason these don't work anymore is because they are so poorly written. But I could definitely imagine this stuff working if they presented it correctly....which is really scary. How hard could it possibly be to find a scam artist who speaks english?
Anyway, report it, but don't expect anything. These things are a dime a dozen and can't be stopped.beef o bradys que
