Which is the better way to send a cover letter/resume? Email or snail mail?

There are several accounting firms I'm interested in working for. They're all local/regional firms, so they don't have online means for applying. Is it better to send my cover letter and resume through an email or the US postal service? I would think email would be quicker and cheaper, but regular mail may be harder to ignore since it couldn't be effortlessly deleted with spam.Which is the better way to send a cover letter/resume? I've heard that it's better to send email because it saves them the hassle of scanning your resume, searching for keywords and adding to the database.Which is the better way to send a cover letter/resume? Email or snail mail?
