To keep people busy delivering little pieces of paper to every home and business in the US 6 days a week?
Paper that all gets thrown away, delivered using fossil fuels, delivered by workers that require health care, retirement benefits etc.. etc...etc...
When will we shift towards email?
Why do we need the postal service bringing us garbage junk mail? 80% of my mail is JUNK.Is the US Postal Service becoming a jobs program?
That "junk" mail you're bitshung about keeps millions of AMERICANS employed.
lumberjacks to provide the wood to make the paper
truck drivers to haul the wood
paper mills to make the paper
truck drivers to haul the paper
ink factories to make the ink to to print on the paper
truck drivers to haul the ink
printing binderies to print the "junk mail"
truck drivers to haul the junk mail
garbage guys to haul the junk mail away when you throw it away
truck drivers to haul the trash to the landfill or recycling plant
landfill or recycling plant workers to deal with it when it gets there
truck drivers to haul the recycled material wherever it goes
people to make other things out of the recycled material
The list goes on and on........................
How many AMERICANS do you want to see become unemployed because you are too cheap to buy a fargin' stamp ???????
Yes and no. It's still great to know that, for less than 50 cents, we can send a letter from one side of the country to another.
However, the contract that stipulates that no postal workers can be let go is a real piece of work. Whoever signed that on the management side was either in someone's back pocket or they just didn't care.Is the US Postal Service becoming a jobs program?
The USPS is one reason why we have a $15 Trillion debt. It has become a welfare program and needs to be reformed. They are losing money big time. They need to be reformed dramatically.
No. The USPS is mandated by the constitution. It will never go away save for an amendment being passed, which won't happen. Is the US Postal Service becoming a jobs program?
The USPS is broken and thus a money eating machine...
