How much longer will we need the US Postal Service?

All bills %26amp; letters could be sent by email.

Packages could be sent by Fed Ex or UPS.

Isn't the USPS obsolete? How much longer will we need the US Postal Service?
Far from obsolete. Be careful what you wish for. Dismantle the postal infrastructure as it exists, and what do you do when nothing electronic works? Power failures, national disasters...ask anyone that's lived through flooding or tornadoes or hurricanes that took everything they owned, what was the first thing that made them feel like life was getting back to normal, and they'll tell you it was mail delivery to their ravaged neighborhoods.

and every thing else floats to you on a cloud? it must be nice

I like being a smart a** , I see what you are saying they should privatize like others have said , it is 2010 but not everyone in the U.S. has a Computer

Have a nice day ComradeHow much longer will we need the US Postal Service?
No until on-line use can fully assure privacy there will always be physical mail, not to mention things like certified mail. Anyone could just say they didn't get something and blame it on a server malfunction.
They should be declared a private company. Let them fight for their place in corporate America.
